AVI Controller

This one is kinda sloppy but gets the job done. AVI Controller let's the user dynamically skip forward and back in video files. This is very useful because fast forward and rewind doesn't work on DiVX or XViD Files.

Install the app then goto More Programs to run it, after that you can access it using the More Information button (i) while a video is playing.

Thanks for this one! I use it whenever I have to bail out of a movie I was watching - only option is to just click-click-click my way through 30-second hell!

Works in Non-English MCE's by moving the avi.mcl link from the english-language path in the Start Menu (usually C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Media Center\Media Center Programs) to the equivalent path that has the folder names in the local language (on my Dutch MCE: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu Start\Programma's\Bureau-accessoires\Media Center\Media Center-programma's).

Thank you! As you say, not perfect, but does what you need it to!

Thanks!

unbelievable that MCE is not capable of fast forwarding other media then MPEG2. This is a big let down :(

Fortunately there is AVI controller! Not the most accurate, but hey, anything better then pressing 2000x skip to skip only 5 sec tot get to an hour!

Thanks for this! I've just started browsing your site after finding a link in the Australian Media Centre Community, and had no idea this one was yours until I made it to the bottom of the page. Good stuff!

I would like to get a similar job because I think that It is so interesting and I will have some new skills to work in DiVX or XViD files.

Thanks for sharing AVI controller information.
Divx files are commonly run on AVI.
